The motivations behind stalking are often difficult for the “average” person to comprehend: rejection, wounded pride, obsessive admiration and similar triggers, usually combined with or caused by a psychological disorder. Stalking typically begins with observation and pursuit, which often intensifies the perpetrator’s obsession.
