Alcohol Abuse in Bonn – Social Endangerment

Since 2008, the city centre of Bonn has been subject to an alcohol ban to address the pronounced drinking and drug scene. While this measure did not eliminate alcohol and drug addiction in Bonn, it did lead to a geographical relocation of the scene, making it significantly easier for the police to maintain control. As a result, not only was the cityscape improved, but social oversight and state support for those affected were also increased.

Nevertheless, like in any major German city, there are alcoholics in Bonn who do not come to the attention of the authorities and thus are not recognised as a problem. Most of them, however, cause considerable harm to their social environment and, naturally, to themselves – for example, when caring for children under the influence of alcohol. This constitutes a custody violation, the detection of which is the responsibility of our private detectives in Bonn: +49 228 2861 4084.

Alcoholism as a Consequence of Separation, Impact on Custody – Verification by Detectives in Bonn

Approximately 55,000 children and adolescents under the age of 18 live in Bonn. Each year, over 1,000 of them become children of divorced parents, while many others grow up with only one parent or even without either biological parent, often following a separation without prior marriage.

Separation often leads to a turn to alcohol, affecting both adults and adolescents. Alcohol abuse is a nationwide problem. Especially “soft” alcoholic drinks provide children with an easy introduction to alcohol consumption. In North Rhine-Westphalia, 151.8 million litres (!) of fruit wines and alcoholic mixed drinks are produced annually – one third (!) of the national production (as of the end of 2013). What begins as “an occasional glass” can quickly become regular consumption. If you suspect that your child is consuming alcohol frequently, or that your ex-partner, who may also have custody of your child, is engaging in excessive drinking and is therefore unfit to care for the child, contact the investigators at Kurtz Detective Agency Bonn: +49 228 2861 4084.

Street Crime Under the Influence of Alcohol

Daily offences are committed under the influence of alcohol, particularly by adolescents. In 2014, street crime increased by 390 cases (+2.9 percent) to 14,048 offences. This rise was largely due to the sharp increase in bicycle thefts, from 2,884 cases in 2013 to 3,358 in 2014 – an increase of 474 offences (16.4 percent). In addition, there were 2,088 incidents of pickpocketing in 2014. However, the most significant and damaging share of alcohol-related offences stems from violence and property damage.
